I know I owe you all a proper review of the whole 3-Day Experience, but I am still pretty exhausted. I promised prizes, though, and I have drawn those prizes with the help of the Random Number Generator at http://www.random.org. First of all, I want to thank everyone out there who donated. As a walker, I raised $2308 with your help, with a few more rolling in. My team set out to raise $14,000, and we ended up raising over $20,000!! Our event as a whole raised $4.8 million! That is fantastic! I am so proud of my part in that, and thank you for yours.

Now, on to the good stuff. I am posting the prizes and winners here and will then contact them via email. If you do not receive an email from me by tomorrow evening, please email me at hello.lovely@gmail.com.

Yall, I made my goal!!!! :) Now go visit my page and look at the blinking 100+% graphic! :)

Now that I’ve made my goal, I have a couple of teammates who are still below theirs. If you’re still feeling generous and want to help out a couple of fellow knitters & teammates of mine, please visit the team page and click on “Betts” or “Kristin”. Everyone else has made or surpassed their goals. :) If you donate to them but still want to enter the contest, just email me & let me know how much you donated, and I’ll still count it. :)

On to the knitting content…

I finished my Monkey socks! I suspect I could’ve knit about half a repeat more to make them a LITTLE bit longer, but the pointy heel flap always ends up under my heel anyway, so I”m sure they’re fine. lol. This is SOS08 Pair #5, I think, and 52 Pair Plunge II pair #8. I’m hoping to kick it into sock overdrive after the walk. I’m trying to knit the pennants and I REALLY need to finish Sheldon before I start anything new, plus the Pink Ribbon Socks for cpurl.

FO: BHMs

And here is what I’ve been knitting. Pennants for our tent deocrations. THese are undecorated, and I’ve found that I REALLY suck at duplicate stitch, so these are probably going to look pretty crappy. lol I’m trying to make them look good though. We’re putting initials for all the people we are walking for, honoring, and remembering. If you have someone you would like us to walk for, please send me their name, and I’ll make one for them. I need to get them to my teammate by Sunday, though, so she can add it to the rest of them, so let me know ASAP. :)

Last weekend, the team and I went on a scheduled 21.5 mile walk that turned out to be about 23 miles before we even made it to the Ferry Boat. We walked from San Francisco, across the Golden Gate Bridge, all the way to Tiburon! I still can’t believe we somehow managed to do that. This weekend, we’re walking 12 miles tomorrow, and I forget how many on Sunday.

With just over a month to go until the walk, I just wanted to post a reminder/update to let everyone know that the contest is STILL ON!! :) Please consider making an online donation by visiting my Personal 3-Day Page. If you don’t want to make an online donation or need to pay with a check/money order, you can also download my donation form (or ask me, I’ll send it to you!) and mail in your donation.

To refresh your memories, every $10 donation gets you 1 entry into the contest. $50 = 5 entries, $100 = 10 entries and so on. I get emails that a donation has been made, but please email me at 3dayunraveled@gmail.com with your name and donation amount so I can keep track of you for the contest! :)

There are also ways to gain bonus entries:

1) donate a prize,
2) post a link to this post on your blog/podcast and tell everyone about it,
3) someone mentions they found me via your blog/podcast

It’s pretty easy. :) I also have some fabulous prizes! Some of them have been donated by some fabulous people, and a lot of them are out of my very own stash.

I’ve created a Flickr Set with photos of all the prizes (except two. Not pictured are the skein of yarn + pattern from The Loopy Ewe and an official Team Unraveled t-shirt in your size!):

3-Day Prizes Mosaic

I’m proud to say I’ve gotten to $1000 as of today!! Thank you to everyone who has donated. It means the world to me!! Only $1200 to go! Don’t you want to help me make my goal? :)

Wow, I really cannot think of spiffy titles lately.

This weekend, we got a booth at the Pleasanton Farmers Market, and we set up a tip jar for donations. We met lots of people… people who just found out they had breast cancer, survivors, people who know people, other 3-day participants, and so many more people. We raised a fair amount of money that will get split between everyone who hasn’t made their goal yet. I’m so proud of us. :D I think we decided we might do it again in a month or so, and we’re trying to come up with some more fundraising ideas.

I’m getting a few more prizes… so if you haven’t made your donations yet, please do!! Email me at 3dayunraveled@gmail.com to let me know you donated & how much so I can count your entries to the contest. Some prizes that I’m waiting on or need to take pictures of include an autographed copy of Stephanie Pearl-McPhee’s latest book, Things I Learned from Knitting, a scrappy non-pink shawl kit that I won as a prize at my LYS, some non-pink STR from a lovely reader/listener/donor, another skein of Sophie’s Toes from Emily Parson herself, and maybe some more. If you’re interested in winning any of these prizes, please consider making a donation! :)

Thanks to a myriad of people on the internet, I’ve also discovered Plurk! It’s pretty cool… if you haven’t joined yet, you totally should. It’s like twitter, only cooler. :)

I managed to finish a few things. We spent our day at the Farmers Market not only telling people about our walk, but also participating in WWKIP day! I managed to almost finish a whole sock! One of the people who came by wanted someone to knit her a pair of socks out of the Bobbles for Boobies kits (I might be getting one of those, too, for a prize!), I’m going to, but I didn’t like the way I did the heel on these enough to give them to someone else. I’m going to keep this pair for myself and make a different pair.

WIP: Bobbles for Boobies

I also finished 2 pairs of socks so far for the 52 Pair Plunge.

12.365 FO: Garter Rib Socks

and

FO: Baby Socks

How cute are those baby socks???

I think I might start recording at some of my Thursday night knitting nights, and I plan on interviewing the other members of my team, so we may have a few podcasts coming up. It doesn’t look like Joe’s leaving on a work trip anytime soon. *lol* :)

Team Unraveled decided we all needed to knit a Dream Swatch, so… I did! :) I loved it once I finally relaxed. :) It knit up very quickly. I almost want to make another one…

So, I thought I’d update you on my progress…

FO: Sheldon

I finished Sheldon 1 of 2. He’s so cute!! :)

002.365 - One down, one to go...

I also finished Sock #1 of 2 of the Garter Rib socks (from Sensational Knitted Socks). The yarn is Sweet Georgia Yarns sock yarn in “Coal Harbour”. Such a pretty color. :)

Knitting has been happening, but not as much as I would like. Training for the walk is pretty much taking over my life, but it’s been good. :) I figured it out, and even discounting for the training walks that I missed due to vacation and stuff, I’ve walked about 95 miles. Tomorrow, we’re doing a 5 mile walk, so I’ll hit 100! :) I’m so very proud of myself. There’s still time to donate and enter the contest. I have some great prizes that I still need to update, so I’ll take pics and upload them tomorrow or Thursday. I’m pretty excited. :) Thank you for all of the support. :)

I haven’t forgotten about the contest. Since being home from vacation and doing laundry and starting back to work again, it’s just been crazy around here. So the bonus contest has been extended.

For any donation made to my fund-raising efforts for the Breast Cancer 3-day through Saturday, May 15 at 11:59:59pm Pacific Time, you will be entered into the contest to win a Flat Feet!!

The latest episode of KP!!! :)

I recorded tonight and started editing, only to be distracted by the need to eat dinner & watch CSI on Demand, followed by the last few minutes of the hockey game (Stars 3, Sharks 2… GO STARS!!). The episode will be up by the end of the weekend.

After CSI & the Hockey Game and a partial marathon of CSI: Miami, I decided to get cracking on organizing all of my yarn. I’m trying to keep like yarns/brands together. Like, all of my STR fits in one drawer. All of my Vepser and Yarn Pirate fit in one drawer. For now. I’ve decided that if it doesn’t fit in the two 5-drawer units I now have, I can’t buy it. And if I have one brand in a drawer, if it won’t fit in the one drawer, I can’t buy anymore. So… no more STR until I start knitting it! (Aside from the kits, which won’t fit if I don’t start knitting!!!) Also, no more YP and Vesper Sock yarn. They’re in a drawer together, and I scored on the latest YP update (Emerald City & Culture Club), plus I got a skein of yarn from the update before last from Vesper (Verbena…seriously, it’s my new favorite color). I don’t think that I can fit anymore, much less those 3 skeins. *lol*

Vesper Sock Yarn: Verbina
see the Verbena? | click to embiggen

I just fit all of my Stitches yarn in one drawer, with room for some more, so the last few Loopy orders that haven’t been placed are now in a place. I love that. :D All the destash and Prize yarn are now in their very own box away from the rest of my yarn so I don’t get tempted to um.. keep it. LOL :)

I also found out that Yarn Harlot is coming to the Bay Area the day before I leave on vacation, so instead of packing, I’m going to go hang out with My People at the Maker Faire. RULE! :)
